A few questions about laptops?

1) Does the battery ever need replacing?
2) How often do you have to recharge it?
3) If it’s left out in the sun for long periods can that be harmful?
4) I want to be able to use a laptop in the middle of nowhere away from society. Is there any way I can recharge it like with solar energy or something, so I don’t have to go back into society every time I want to charge it?
5) Laptop or ipad, which do you think is better?

    1. Yes
    2. As often as it runs out. If it only last 10 hours, then you have to charge it ever 10 hours
    3. Yes, but you really can’t see laptop screens very well in bright sun light.
    4. Probably, just it would take all 12 hours of sunlight to charge it for like an hour.
    5. If all you are doing is web and e-mail ipad. If you actually want a computer get a laptop.

    1) yes, unless you want to buy yourself a new laptop every 3 years
    2) every day, depends how often you use the laptop
    3) shouldnt be, but best to cover it up from direct sunlight
    4) i’m pretty sure you can get power outlets in rural areas too… you don’t have to be in a civilised area to find a a/c power socket. if that doesn work out for you, there are many adapters that you can use to charge the laptop in the car.
    5) you’re an idiot if you buy an ipad

Laptop batteries will go bad if not used correctly. take battery out when plugging up for long periods of time. and if can help it don’t leave in sun, can cause overheat. and you can use a laptop anywhere just might not get a internet connection.

    1. Maybe. It depends how much you use (or abuse) the battery, and how long you want to use that computer overall.
    2. Depends how much/often you used the computer on battery, and how intensive applications you run, and the capacity of the battery.
    3. Possibly, if it is too hot, it can possibly warp the pastics, overheat the battery, and possibly damage the LCD.
    4. Sure you can charge by solar, but will need to find a big enough panel.
    5. Depends what you want, The iPad is an interactive media consumption platform, not a general purpose computer. Only you can decide what you want. My netbook can do what an iPad could do for me, and more.
