In economics, "best" would mean the lowest cost per unit of energy. Based on Total System Levelized Cost per megawatt-hour, that would be natural gas.

I want to know its cost for home purpose. Cost of a small one.

Ask your parents if there is someone nearby who has one. I have no idea of your local costs, unfortunately.

A cardboard box solar oven with aluminum foil could be made for practically nothing here in the US. A solar water heater would be perhaps $3000 at the low end. The smallest solar electric that would actually save money would be on the order of $10000. None of this includes tax breaks and incentives, which will be different in your country.

Solar is easy, lots of vendors
Wind may be more expensive and you may have more "environmental" restrictions.

Best is to call the Local Power Company (where you plan to retire) and ask them.

Just as the other two have already stated, space is a big issue. Also, batteries. Wind & solar energy are not available everywhere in the US and around the world. It can only be very effective in certain areas (like the Southwest for solar and Midwest and Appalachian Mountain Chain for wind). There currently is not an efficient way to store and transport energy to other parts of the nation/world.

So, in addition to what everyone else has said so far, I would say that the industry’s biggest hurdle is focusing primarily on wind and solar. They should be looking at biomass, hydrokynetic, and other forms, as well. Did you know cow manure (a form of biomass) can be processed to use the methane as a source of energy (like natural gas… It is natural, and it is a gas). The by-product of the process is smelly-free fertilizer! Farmers that have used the method on their dairy farms are churning out so much electricity into the grid, their entire farms run on it AND they get money from the power companies that service their area.
Hydrokynetic is relatively new to the industry. Basically, it’s the equivalent of putting huge turbines under large bodies of water to use the energy of the currents to create electricity.

It would seem logical that using energy from coasting downhill to recharge the batteries along with solar panels and some sort of wind recharging device could be manufactured for a really cool bike. Just a thought. Love to hear what you think!
As far as the solar element, they are now manufacturing "solar panel sheets" that are extremely light, almost like a saren wrap that would cut down on weight.

Electric vehicles can use all these sources of power if it is first converted to electricity and either stored or transmitted to the vehicle.

There are several unique solar bike concepts listed below. Flexible solar panels could easily be placed on a velomobile. Land sailors use the wind for power.

Its Great to hear that you like to entered in Green Power Business, yes its right time to enter in the same business, presently renewable energy have Boom in the market and many big corporates are diversify in power sector,
as per my knowledge and expertise we can suggest you to contact with Viyors Energy Who is Based in India, we have visited there all mentioned five companies websites and discussion with many energy experts, they suggest Best Renewable Energy Co. Viyors, they have world top 11 expertise advisory Board and maximum are Ph.D Level and morethen 25 yrs expertise with Wind/Solar/Hydro/Ocean and bio mass field,
Viyors Also Have 22 countries presence and they are affiliated by morethen 34 international energy organisations.
other 2nd co. you can think about Enercon, but they only deal with Mega wind…
Now you have choice, we are suggested as per our knowledge.

What are the percentages of power/energy saved by using solar energy and wind energy compared to what we use on average? Thoughts or ideas?

When reading about the total capacity of solar power available in the SW US or wind power available in the midwest US you see either on could potentially totally satisfy all of our power needs. However such claims need to be put into some economic perspective.

-Yes, the power is there but transmission to far places is another issue.
-As is the efficiency of such sources of energy.
-Such sources of power may not be as constant as is our need. Our electrical system needs greater capacity for energy storage. This is another technology that is concurrently being developed.

They are improving but lets not expect so much that we will be disappointed if technology does not advance as rapidly as we would wish.

Currently renewable energy is only a small percentage of US power supply: http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/alternate/page/renew_energy_consump/table1.html
and a graph: http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/energyexplained/index.cfm?page=electricity_in_the_united_states

Specific instances for home owners or businesses will vary a great deal based upon local conditions, local incentives, amount of available investment, desired or needed return on investment…
